Language Spa is a personalized education and travel experience for people seeking to expand and recharge their lives through customized English language instruction, cultural immersion, meaningful activities, and life-changing adventure. Come by yourself, with someone special, or as a group of three.

Your host, Sue Ann Mead will guide and care for you in a cozy safe environment. She will help you remember, anew, what self care is by nourishing your mind, body, and soul. You will become a better student, employee, partner and parent from her care and guidance. By taking care of yourself now, you will be able to take better care of your people—your peeps--family members, colleagues, friends. Return home feeling refreshed, renewed, and re-awakened to your life’s possibilities, potential, and path. Come ready to learn, explore, and grow!

Daily schedule:

Morning Schedule: (9am-10:30am) Conversation Warm-Up; Reading; Discussion; Writing; Grammar; Book Work

Mid-Day Break: 10:30-11:00 am

Afternoon Schedule: (11am-12:30pm) Conversation; Pronunciation; Listening Comprehension; Warm Down

Lunch: 1pm-ish

Dinner: 6:30-ish

Sue Ann works with each guest prior to arrival to create a personalized schedule to match individual skills and interests. Sightseeing? Surfing? Cooking lessons? Shopping? Sue Ann will help you create the perfect trip!

Meet Sue Ann Mead

Sue Ann Mead is a respected language teacher and life coach. She is also a mother, wife and mentor. She holds a Master’s Degree from New York University, and has spent her professional career enriching thousands of students’ lives. She has worked as an English teacher in Marugame, Japan, taught college level English classes in Oregon and California, and has successfully instructed non-native speakers in English at private language schools for many years.

Sue Ann is interested in you! In language. In culture. In art. In almost anything that is new and exciting. She is an excellent listener with a big heart who looks forward to meeting new people from around the globe. In her private life, Sue Ann is happily married to Dalouge, the man of her dreams. Their son, a Harvard graduate, is now a PhD candidate at MIT. In her free time, Sue Ann enjoys yoga, meditation, reading, and nuzzling her dog Wilbur.

Where is Language Spa?

Language Spa is in Coronado, California, a lovely small town located minutes from downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, Petco Park, the Gaslamp district, Little Italy, and the San Diego International airport.

Coronado's mild climate and level terrain create a paradise for walkers and cyclists -- most locals prefer to bike or walk across the island.

Many parks dot the city, and the local wide beach has been named the best in the US. Guests should plan to take time to discover Coronado’s unique restaurants and shops.

How Do I Make My Reservation?

For a daily fee, Language Spa provides almost everything you need: accommodations, most meals, airport pick up and drop off, transportation, English lessons, and guidance.

What is NOT included: textbooks, airfare, special attraction entrance fees (amusement parks, zoos, movies, spas, and restaurant meals are not included in the daily fee) Transportation costs outside of San Diego County are also not included in the daily fee. These prices will be calculated and discussed with each guest prior to booking.
